David Justice

Partner

Expertise

With more than 25 years’ experience in the retail property market, David has an extensive track record in retail agency, including a broad knowledge of the Central London market. Having worked with numerous landlords and retailers, he has a keen focus on establishing viable strategies for future performance and has been involved in leasing a number of shopping centres for some of the UK's leading landlords. David has taken a pivotal role in advising some of the country’s top multiple retailers on their acquisition and disposal strategies throughout the UK.

Background

Prior to setting up MMX Retail, David was a Director of Savills and previously an Equity Partner of Blair Kirkman LLP. He has also worked at Cushman & Wakefield and Grant & Partners. David is a member of The British Council of Shopping Centres, The Shop Agents Society and Accessible Retail.

Interests

David enjoys keeping fit through many types of sport, his favourite being skiing, where he now struggles to keep up with his three teenage boys!! He also has a passion for historic cars, the Kent coast and sailing.

Rob Williams

Expertise

With some 30 years experience in the urban market place, Rob has an extensive track record in mixed use town centre developments and urban regeneration as well as the more traditional shopping centre and retail leasing on behalf of funds, property companies, developers and local authorities. He has advised numerous landlords on the options and viability of redeveloping and repurposing existing assets as well as working alongside investment teams in purchasing new ones.

Background

Prior to MMX Retail, Rob was Head of the Retail Agency & Development team at BNP Paribas / Strutt and Parker where he worked for 14 years. Before that, Rob worked at Cushman and Wakefield & Savills for 15 years, specialising in shopping centre leasing and development. Rob is a member of both the Revo Urban Development and Public Sector committees and a past chairman of the Shop Agents Society.

Interests

Rob is married with two teenage kids and enjoys trying to keep fit through running, cycling and ski-ing. Most weekends are spent on hockey pitch touchlines.

Nick Symons

Partner

Expertise

Nick's experience over the past 28 years has included a wide range of UK instructions for both landlords and tenants. He has been involved in leasing some of the country's high profile centres and has also advised numerous national and international retailers on acquisition and disposal strategies throughout the UK. He has advised on a number of significant investment purchases, where his occupational and leasing experience has been crucial.

Background

Nick is one of the founding Partner's of MMX Retail. Prior to that, he was a Senior Director and Head of Retail at Savills following their acquisition of niche practice Blair Kirkman, where he was an Equity Partner. Nick also worked as an Estate Manager at Marks & Spencer prior to joining Blair Kirkman and started his career as a graduate at Gerald Eve. Nick regularly provides opinions to journals including Retail Week and Property Week. He has also been invited as a guest speaker on various panels.

Interests

Nick enjoys many types of sport, inparticular rugby and is an avid supporter Welsh Rugby and the British and Irish Lions. Nick also enjoys skiing and golf (when time permits) but remains a high handicap!

Filippa Mudd

Associate Partner

Expertise

Filippa has over 15 years of experience in the retail sector with an extensive track record in retail agency and development. Her portfolio of clients over the years include Aberdeen Standard Investments, Aviva, British Land, intu and Legal & General. She has been involved in all stages of the leasing lifecycle from pre-letting of shopping centres to on-going asset management and re-purposing of assets.

Background

Prior to joining MMX, Filippa was a Senior Associate Director at BNP Paribas Real Estate UK/Strutt & Parker where she had been for 13 years. Prior to that she spent time at Nelson Bakewell/NB Real Estate working in the retail management team there. She is a member of the RICS.

Interests

Filippa is married with two young daughters and is often trying to escape the chaos by getting out horse riding. She also loves skiing and has a passion for interior décor and is a regular at the local DIY store or furniture shop.

Henry Foreman

Associate Partner

Expertise

Henry has worked in Retail Agency and Development for 6 years building an integral understanding of urban environments and a strong track record in mixed use town centre developments as well as more traditional shopping centre and retail leasing on behalf of funds, property companies, developers and local authorities. Henry is a passionate advocate for independent business, often thinking of different routes to access local business’ and challenging traditional leasing models. Henry’s most recent mixed use development project Peach Place and Elms Field in Wokingham won the prestigious RTPI award for ‘Excellence in Planning for a Successful Economy’.

Background

Prior to MMX Retail, Henry was a Senior Associate Director in the Retail Agency & Development team at BNP Paribas / Strutt and Parker where he worked for 6 years. Before that, Henry worked in Asset Management managing a mixed portfolio so has a strong understanding of all aspects of property and insight into different flexi-leasing models. Henry is a Committee Member of the Shop Agents Society.

Interests

Henry refers to himself as a ‘Global Sport Enthusiast’ and can often be found on a golf course. He is a keen ‘guerrilla gardener’ having established several community gardens in Deptford over the course of 2020 and is passionate about the Arts, currently fulfilling the role of Co-Vice Chairman of the Art for Youth London, an annual Charitable Art Fair and online exhibition.

Simon Colley

Surveyor

Expertise

Simon currently works on a number of shopping centre schemes including County Square, Ashford and Chequers Court, Huntingdon. He is also assisting with both the Investment and Lease Advisory teams.

Background

Simon joined MMX Retail in October 2018. A graduate from the RAU Cirencester, Simon studied Rural Land Management, experiencing various sectors of real estate before embarking on the retail sector.

Interests

Simon is a big all-round sports fan and avid supporter of boyhood club Blackburn Rovers. In his spare time, you’ll often find him chasing sheep back on the fells at his family's farm in Lancashire and enjoying various country sports.

Charlie Spilsbury

Graduate Surveyor

Expertise

Focused primarily on the agency side, Charlie works on leasing and development instructions throughout the UK including Milton Keynes, Cambridge and Carmarthen, as well as providing occupier advisory support to a number of our retained clients including EE and M&S. This gives him a broad understanding of both landlord and tenant requirements in a variety of different schemes and locations.

Background

Originally from Edinburgh, Charlie joined MMX Retail in November 2021 after graduating from Sheffield Hallam University with a 1st Class Honours Degree in Real Estate. Whilst at university, Charlie undertook a placement at Sanderson Weatherall in the restructuring and recovery team, providing experience in agency and valuation and is passionate for sustainability and adaptability within the retail sector.

Interests

Charlie is a keen sports fan particularly enjoying rugby, golf, and squash. Weekends are often spent at matches or the occasional trip to his family home up in Scotland where he can be found golfing or playing cricket on the Beach!
